Play Frisbee

Go outside and play frisbee with your child.

Now, if you’ve never thrown a frisbee, you might get a little frustrated trying to play frisbee with your child, who also has probably never thrown a frisbee. If that’s the case, below there’s a video from one of the greats in the Ultimate Frisbee world who demonstrates a pretty technical breakdown. If the video is too much, just wind up and fling the disc to each other. Millions have figured it out that way.

The curveball? When you feel like it’s time to stop playing, challenge your child to throw the frisbee so that you do not have to move your feet to catch it. Announce that if he/she can do it, you’ll take them to get ice cream…or an icee…or fruit loops…or whatever would be a great prize for winning the challenge. Think they’ll be excited to give it a try? You bet. And when they’re successful make it a huge deal that they did that for you. Thank them for allowing you to get ice cream.
