Frank Jackson State Park, located near Opp, Alabama, has 2,050 acres and it’s main attraction is 1,000 acre Lake Frank Jackson (not to be confused with another Lake Jackson, just south of here on the Alabama/Florida line). Fishing, as you might guess, is a predominate activity at the park along with hiking, camping (32 full hook-up sites and 8 primitive sites), swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, and picnicking. One of the interesting features of the hiking opportunities is a pedestrian bridge leading to an island on the lake that has two hiking trails.

Splash Adventure, located in Bessemer, Alabama, is a seasonal (May through September) water park which shares it’s location with Alabama Adventure, an amusement park.
