About
Bladon Springs State Park, located in Choctaw County (about an hour north of Mobile) has an interesting history. It was once a private spa with four mineral wells. A large Greek Revival hotel was built to accommodate the large number of visitors to the park. The hotel no longer exists and the remaining spring has a hand pump but the park is still a peaceful, rural getaway. The park is run by Choctaw County and offers camping, picnic pavilions, a playground, and a little hiking. Birders will also love Bladon Springs, which is a stop on Alabama’s Black Belt Birding.
